Introduction
My brother Andrew and I used to push about a mile from our home to skate a curb at a strip mall.
It was a 5 sided curb and the in front of a variety store, that later became a Block Buster Video.
We were there once (I think there were 3 of us skating) doing disasters and slappies on the curb. A guy came walking up to us. In my memory he was wearing a ratty fleece jacket he had long scraggly jesus type hair and he wore glasses and a head band. I remember looking at his face and not seeing his eyes through his dark shades but thinking that the headband was covering a giant tattoo on his fore head. (I have no idea if the tattoo was real or if my mind added that part) I thought he seemed weird but looked cool. He looked at the 3 or us and said something like, "This is good guys, do your thing." Then he reached into his pockets and jerkily through a bunch of change on the ground. I remember seeing the change floating to the pavement and feeling excited that there were no pennies in there, only silver change. I watched the change hit the ground and tried to count how much was there as it bounced and rolled around. I liked the sound it made. As i looked up the guy had already turned his back and was quickly walking away towards the KFC at the far corner or the parking lot.
